White Horse is partnering with a leading rail services provider to recruit an experienced Sentinel Manager to lead their rail compliance function. This is a key role within a growing Rail Division, reporting to the Operations Director and Compliance Director, ensuring the division remains fully compliant, audit-ready, and consistently meets client standards.

Role Overview

You will take ownership of the rail compliance function, leading annual RISQS audits, maintaining the compliance matrix, Sentinel dashboards, and training/competence tracking. You will ensure operational teams meet client requirements while maintaining full audit and regulatory compliance across the division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the annual RISQS audit, maintaining a complete audit evidence library
  • Coordinate all Sentinel tasks, including Primary and Sub-Sponsorship, De-Sponsorship, and pre-sponsorship checks
  • Maintain rail compliance dashboards, matrices, and trackers, reconciling against fatigue and medical/D&A records
  • Manage Rail Training Matrix and competence tracking, providing compliance reporting to teams
  • Ensure operative medical and D&A compliance is maintained and auditable
  • Monitor and update Fatigue360 with planned and actual hours, scheduling and completing fatigue assessments
  • Maintain rail equipment registers and support internal audits, NCR logging and close-out
  • Coordinate rail governance and communications, including monthly review meetings, toolbox talks, safety bulletins, RISQS portal monitoring, and CIRAS membership

About You

  • Proven experience as a Sentinel Coordinator, Rail Compliance Coordinator, or Rail Compliance Manager
  • Experience leading or heavily supporting successful RISQS audits
  • Strong knowledge of Network Rail requirements, RISQS audit protocols, and Sentinel Scheme Rules
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and confident communicator
  • Able to challenge and escalate when compliance risks are identified
