Our SENCO leader is Mrs Gemma Martin. We are committed to providing all children with a high‑quality education. We identify SEND needs early and tailor support to meet any specific needs. We provide a safe, secure, caring environment that promotes positive well‑being through teaching skills in emotional regulation, social interaction and self‑care. The role is focused on supporting children aged 4‑7, predominantly with an ASD diagnosis, in a dedicated provision called The Haven. The Haven is supported by the Local Authority and we work collaboratively with other local ERP’S.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the teaching team for The Haven, working with a small group of up to eight children.
  • Support and supervise the skilled teaching assistant and coordinate work with the SENCO.
  • Apply experience of working with complex children to deliver high‑quality, individualized instruction.
  • Collaborate with parents, agencies and local ERP’S to meet each child’s educational needs.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote independent learning and active participation.
  • Ensure the provision complies with local authority requirements and best practice for SEND.

Qualifications:

  • Be passionate about supporting children to help remove barriers to learning.
  • Be able to build effective relationships with children, parents and other agencies.
  • Be organised and creative, thinking outside the box.
  • Have a strong awareness of social and emotional development.
  • Have excellent communication skills.
