About the Travel & Leisure ("T&L") Team

The T&L Team is the advisory arm to WHA that provides hands-on support and advice to a range of stakeholders across the travel sector that require solutions to financial, strategic and regulatory issues (often relating to ATOL, ABTA, ABTOT and/or IATA Accreditation). The T&L team also leads on the regulatory reporting requirements that many of our clients are subject to in the travel sector, such as ATOL Annual Accountants Reports (AARs) and ABTA and ABTOT Annual Turnover Returns.

About the Role

  • Responsible for the preparation of travel audit reporting schedules for a portfolio of travel clients.
  • Carry out analytical reviews to identify any anomalies with our clients regulatory reporting, or possible issues that may impact their ability to retain their licence(s).
  • Carefully manage your travel audit reporting portfolio to ensure key filing dates are met. This will involve building strong relationships with both clients and audit colleagues to encourage high quality and timely receipt of information.
  • Provide written analysis to Management of the work procedures performed and key issues identified following completion of the applicable travel audit reporting schedules.
  • Assist our travel clients with their applications for an ATOL, ABTA/ABTOT Membership and/or IATA accreditation. This may include assisting with completion of the application forms, liaising with the relevant licensing bodies and reviewing the company financials.
  • Assist our travel clients with ad hoc travel regulatory queries from time to time.
  • Support the T&L management team with high-profile client engagements and project work from time to time. This may include (but not be limited to) assisting with the regulatory aspects of M&A deals or supporting internal projects which contribute to the effective operation of the team.

About You

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate the following:

  • Possess experience in the travel industry, ideally in a regulatory role.
  • Good written skills and working knowledge of standard Microsoft packages (such as Word, Excel, Outlook) and be able to work efficiently in a paperless environment.
  • Take an analytical approach and be able to draw out relevant insights that lead to constructive solutions.
  • You should be able to take ownership for your personal delivery and have the ability to work unsupervised, using your own initiative in reaching sound judgment but able to identify when to refer to others.
  • You should have the ability to build effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders at different levels and be a collaborative team player.
