Here at White Cross Vets, Wolstanton we are experiencing an exciting period of growth and as a result, we have a fantastic opportunity for an additional Veterinary Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team. As with any busy veterinary practice, the cases we see are varied; just like the role. Our nurses always “nurse” following a rota which provides interest and enormous job satisfaction. One day may be spent running Nurse clinics, managing in patients, or performing one of our theatre roles.

We pride ourselves on our proactive approach to Nurse Utilisation and developing schedule 3 skills; we actively encourage all our Nurses to focus on personal development to allow them to grow. You will receive the support of an already amazing team of Nurses, our Vet team and not forgetting the fabulous support from our client care Co‑Ordinators.

A Bit About Us and Our Fabulous Team: Wolstanton is a growing practice with great facilities including 4 consult rooms, cat ward, dog ward, operating theatre, digital x‑ray, dental x‑ray, ultrasound and access to endoscope if needed, an Imagyst machine for in‑house cytology analysis, meaning we can get results back from FNAs etc within 2 hours, as well access to SignalPet which uses artificial intelligence to provide support interpreting radiographs. You’ll be working alongside our wonderful nurse team, we have 4 vets who have been qualified from 8‑23 years. We hold the ISFM silver award for cat care and the IVC Evidensia patient safety award. Our veterinary team enjoy all aspects of general veterinary practice, our vets have interest in surgery and dentistry in particular. High‑quality clinical care is of utmost importance to the team; we routinely conduct audits, ensuring we are always working towards gold standard first opinion pet care.

Strong Support for Amazing Care: We have a very strong management team who are keen to train and develop our team. We have a clinical lead nurse and Prep room co‑ordinator who jointly are responsible for maintaining our patient safety awards and promoting clinical improvement and quality of care whilst ensuring our day runs smoothly in Prep and theatre. We hold regular practice, vet, nurse and reception meetings for open discussion so you can have your say. We’re also a cat friendly clinic and offer certificate opportunities for personal development, ensuring there is a 12‑month plan of in‑house CPD of the teams chosen subject areas.

One of the best parts of working at Wolstanton is our close‑knit, enthusiastic teams. As a team, we are very focused on wellbeing and team building and take our wellbeing afternoons extremely seriously, which have included “Bake‑Off” style competitions, Christmas quizzes and Halloween pumpkin carving. We may also be partial to a spot of BINGO and love some seasonal fun.

Working Hours: The role is currently a part time 25 hours per week permanent position. Having the right person to join our team is our priority so flexibility within the role will always be considered.
