Our Practice Solutions team leads the Firm’s innovation initiatives, supporting our lawyers in client delivery excellence. The team has deep expertise in working with established and emerging technologies, data analytics and data science, knowledge solutions and process re‑engineering. The Practice Solutions team works with our lawyers to identify innovative solutions to support our clients. Practice Solutions is White & Case's specialist team focused on leveraging AI, legal technology, and data to enhance legal service delivery, led by Chief Innovation Officer Isabel Parker. The team integrates expertise in technology, data science, research, market intelligence, process excellence, and change management to build practice‑relevant solutions.

Practice Technology Offering

  • Comprehensive eDiscovery services, including data processing, AI/GenAI/machine learning, managed review, productions, and support through arbitration and trial.
  • Full‑spectrum eDiscovery advisory, covering budgeting, vendor management, data transfer protocols, project oversight, and lifecycle management.
  • Development of bespoke workflows, playbooks, and collaboration portals tailored to legal strategy and client needs.
  • Document automation to streamline the creation of standard and complex document suites.
  • Trial and arbitration support services, seamlessly integrated into overall matter strategy.

Position Summary

Position seeks a highly motivated and technically skilled Senior Project Manager for Practice Technology Disputes, in the U.K. Reporting to a Manager in Practice Technology Disputes, this strategic and hands‑on role supports our lawyers and clients in managing complex, event‑driven matters.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead the full lifecycle of litigation technology projects, from early case assessment through trial or deal closure. This includes managing project teams, designing workflows and reports, resolving technical issues, and ensuring efficient, cost‑effective delivery of legal tech solutions. You will coordinate with vendors and ALSPs, manage data quality, and provide regular updates, proposals, and budgets to stakeholders. The role requires hands‑on expertise with practice‑facing legal technologies, with a strong focus on eDiscovery and AI/GenAI/TAR solutions in the context of disputes, investigations, arbitrations, and trials.

This role requires 8+ years of experience in legal technology within a law firm, corporation, or professional services. Strong preference for candidates with hands‑on eDiscovery expertise, prior experience as a Project Manager, and team leadership skills. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader, capable of independently managing complex projects in high‑pressure environments, with a strong commitment to leveraging emerging legal technologies.

Also necessary are strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment under strict deadlines, effectively manage multiple responsibilities, and meet budget and deadline demands.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation, roll‑out, and adoption of practice technologies, ensuring integration with firm systems, processes, and data through cross‑functional collaboration with technical and procurement teams.
  • Champion innovation by identifying and integrating emerging legal technologies and workflow enhancements.
  • Coordinate technology testing and feedback with project teams and vendors to support successful deployment and adoption.
  • Develop, document, and promote best practices for leveraging AI/GenAI‑enabled and automation technologies.
  • Provide strategic insights to leadership to inform procurement, technology adoption, and process improvement.
  • Lead and oversee all phases of legal technology and eDiscovery projects, ensuring quality, efficiency, and defensibility.
  • Manage end‑to‑end support for complex matters, including white‑collar, antitrust, arbitration, and regulatory investigations.
  • Coordinate the identification, preservation, collection, processing, review, and production of ESI and paper files.
  • Track and analyze incoming client data; design workflows and databases tailored to matter requirements.
  • Develop strategic recommendations, project plans, and budgets for legal technology initiatives; report regularly on progress and status.
  • Act as primary liaison with the firm’s Managed Services provider, overseeing eDiscovery and disclosure matters.
  • Partner with legal technology vendors to design, deliver, and maintain solutions aligned with practice needs.
  • Assist in vendor selection and management, including negotiation and coordination of services.
  • Collaborate with deal and matter teams to scope legal technology needs and implement tailored solutions.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior and demanding legal stakeholders, providing consultative leadership on complex and evolving matters, guiding teams through ambiguity, and delivering strategic, defensible solutions in high‑pressure environments.
  • Serve as a consultative resource for disputes‑related legal technology, advising lawyers on appropriate use cases and workflows for tools (i.e., Relativity, VincentAI, Legora, Opus 2, Clearbrief, etc.), while collaborating with existing platform owners for hands‑on configuration, training, and administration.
  • Advise attorneys on best practices for legal technology and eDiscovery.
  • Provide hands‑on support and training for legal technology platforms; maintain in‑depth knowledge of vendor tools.
  • Guide case teams in effective document management, matter workflows, and discovery practices.
  • Communicate with case teams regarding discovery management, including budget updates, production planning, and project reporting.
  • Assist with client IT interviews and draft related questionnaires.
  • Contribute to firm knowledge management through the development of playbooks, templates, training programs, CLEs, and cross‑functional boot camps.
  • Coordinate and support domestic and international travel for client engagements and case‑related needs; willingness and ability to travel as required.
  • Meet firm billable hour requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; RCA Certification strongly preferred.
  • PMP, ACEDS, or other project management/business analysis certifications a plus.
  • 8+ years of legal technology experience, preferably in AmLaw100 firms, Big 4, or eDiscovery vendors.
  • Proven track record managing complex electronic discovery projects, including government investigations and cross‑border matters.
  • Deep understanding of the eDiscovery lifecycle, legal standards (EDRM, Sedona), and evolving case law.
  • Experience with litigation workflows.
  • Strong knowledge of data processing, vendor deliverables, and database/workflow design for review and analysis.
  • Experience managing large‑scale matters across multiple offices, both domestic and international.
  • In‑depth, hands‑on experience with eDiscovery tools (e.g., AI/GenAI, TAR) and legal tech platforms including, but not limited to, Relativity/Relativity.ai, VenioOne, Nuix, eZReview, Trial Director, CaseRooms, Opus Magnum, Clearbrief, VincentAI, Legora, and other similar tools.
  • Experience in change management within large law firms is a plus.
  • Expertise in legal databases, analytics tools, and workflow automation.
  • Strong technical knowledge of information retrieval, archiving systems, and emerging legal technologies.
  • Ability to train users in firm applications; experience in classroom settings is a plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing teams and resolving complex technical issues independently.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and client service skills, with the ability to collaborate across all levels.
  • Skilled in managing time, resources, and priorities to meet or exceed service level agreements.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and a proactive, solutions‑oriented mindset.
