Our Commercial Litigation Practice specializes in representing clients in high-stakes business disputes across a wide range of industries. We provide expert legal services in areas such as contract disputes, class actions, business torts, shareholder and partnership disputes, antitrust litigation and intellectual property litigation. Our team handles all phases of litigation, from pre-litigation counseling and strategic planning to trial and appellate proceedings. By leveraging our deep legal expertise, global reach and strategic insights, we help clients navigate complex legal challenges, protect their business interests, and achieve favorable outcomes through both court proceedings and alternative dispute resolution methods.
As a Legal Assistant, you will be immersed in a dynamic work environment as part of our team that handles all international litigation for a major social media client, including matters implicating international data protection, defamation, hosting provider liability, privacy and censorship laws. You will work closely with team members and colleagues across various practice areas, contributing to first-level review, processing, tracking, and implementing established strategies for new cases. Additionally, you will prepare weekly/monthly summaries of new cases and developments, track litigation statistics, maintain the matter database, and help develop technology and processes for managing global litigation.
We are looking for a Legal Assistant who possesses excellent academic credentials, strong organizational skills, effective time management abilities, and a keen attention to detail. Key Responsibilities- Review new matters received on a daily basis and prepare short summaries for each matter.
- Develop expert-level knowledge of matter flow.
- Track matter flow and maintain up-to-date case files.
- Create/maintain databases, charts, graphs, tables, etc. for data analysis.
- Utilize litigation support software programs and other spreadsheet and database programs as needed to perform client projects.
- Prepare daily time entries for services performed.
- Degree educated.
- Related work experience within a law firm or professional services is required.
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and Adobe Acrobat.
- Ability to work under pressure and with a variety of personalities.
- Willingness and ability to work overtime if needed.
- Good judgment and high ethical standards.
- Additional language skills are desirable.
- Ability to travel as needed.
