Joining our global People (Advisory) team will mean engaging in broad HR and talent management activities, from traditional tasks to high-level strategic initiatives. As a key member of the London People Team, you will assist White & Case in translating business strategy into talent imperatives, focusing on profitable growth, engaged people, and outstanding client relationships. You will advise on and manage key human resources processes, supporting EMEA HR Managers and HR Specialists in delivering HR services throughout the employee lifecycle in our Legal areas. Working with a team of three Advisors in London, each responsible for specific Legal client groups and the PA population, you will provide operational support on day-to-day people matters. As part of our global People Advisory team, you will utilise and develop skills across all aspects of human resources and talent management. Beyond traditional HR tasks, you will engage in high-level strategic initiatives to attract, retain, and engage the best people, contributing to our employer value proposition. You will manage significant projects, foster a collaborative culture, and offer trusted advice to partners and business services leaders. Key Responsibilities
- Recruitment and Induction
- Assisting with drafting business cases for hiring requests across EMEA
- Conducting first-stage probation reviews, escalating issues to the EMEA HR Managers and relevant Partners/Business Services Leaders
- Analysing new joiner feedback, proposing process efficiencies where necessary
- Overseeing Work Experience placements in respective groups
- Employee Relations
- Being the primary contact for all policy-related queries, ensuring advice is applied in a commercial and practical way
- Conducting investigations for disciplinary and grievance processes in London
- Managing Maternity/Shared Parental Leave/Paternity processes for respective groups
- Managing long‑term absences and occupational health cases
- Performance Management
- Working collaboratively to support the EMEA HR Managers with the timely launch and successful delivery of the performance evaluation process
- Being the main point of contact for evaluation queries and evaluation system training
- Managing London salary and bonus processes, drawing on support from the EMEA HR Manager as required
- Providing support on the EMEA salary and bonus process, liaising with Regional office contacts where necessary
- Mobility and Operational
- Working closely with the mobility team, assisting with joiner visa applications, including drafting job descriptions and associated documents
- Managing client secondments for respective groups
- Maintaining the relevant People data sources, including career trackers and headcount reports
- Reviewing monthly audit reports and taking action where necessary
- Monitoring and reviewing attrition data on a quarterly basis, reporting back to the leadership team on trends and insights
- Building and developing relationships with other Business Services functions, identifying process improvements and efficiencies where necessary
Qualifications & Skills
- CIPD qualification (full or part) advantageous
- Professional services experience; experience in a global law firm preferred
- Highly client focused with excellent attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels with a strong client focus
- Ability to question constructively existing procedures and consider alternatives
- Team player, contributing to the success of the HR team
- Excellent technical skills and ability to learn new systems (knowledge of Workday advantageous)

Location and Reporting
This role is based in London, and reports to the EMEA HR Managers and the Associate Director, EMEA People Advisory. Our standard office hours are 09:30‑18:00, with a current requirement for 3 days in the office per week. This will go to 4 days in the office (Monday – Thursday) from March 2026.
