Are you ready to make your mark as part of our Business Development Team in our London Office? The BD Specialist is a crucial part of our centralised BD function, supporting practice groups, industry groups, and client account teams to achieve their commercial and marketing goals. This role involves stakeholder management of senior BD team members, partners, and lawyers, and is key for career progression within our business development team. Our Business Development and Marketing Team focuses on profitable growth, engaged people, and outstanding client relationships, working globally with a collaborative and high-performing team to deliver significant growth and navigate complex environments. This role supports the business development activities of the London-based EIPAF practice group under the supervision of two BD Managers. The BD Specialist plays a key part in delivering marketing and development support, contributing to pitches and credentials, coordinating profile-raising initiatives, and maintaining marketing materials and lawyer CVs. This hands-on role suits a detail-oriented, proactive BD professional thriving in a collaborative environment and eager to develop within a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the preparation and coordination of client-facing materials, ensuring accurate and timely delivery
- Maintaining up-to-date EIPAF BD content, including experience lists, case studies, lawyer CVs, and practice credentials
- Owning the lawyer CV process, including creating and updating CVs and web bios
- Helping update and maintain the EMEA EIPAF Hub intranet page as the go-to resource for BD materials
- Acting as a resource for ensuring team materials are current and available
- Helping organise client events, webinars, and thought leadership campaigns
- Supporting the process of compiling information for directory submissions (e.g., Chambers, Legal 500), award nominations, and league table entries, under the direction of BD Managers, the EMEA EIPAF Associate Director, and the Global EIPAF BD Director
- Championing the firm’s systems, including regular use of finance dashboards, MyPortal, CRM System, and other marketing technology to help stakeholders target improved client data, ensuring correct and timely tracking and reporting
- Assisting in implementing client relationship and business development initiatives
- Coordinating internal meetings and supporting progress on client plans and practice priorities
Qualifications and Skills
- Graduate with at least three years of relevant business development experience in a professional services firm
- Relevant marketing (CIM) or post-graduate qualification is advantageous
- Experience leading projects with multiple stakeholders through to delivery
- Proven ability to work autonomously and manage senior stakeholders
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to work at all levels
- Flexible, committed, and enthusiastic with a client-focused approach
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Influencing and negotiating skills with a creative and strategic mindset
- Good systems and database skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM applications
- Team player with a proactive approach and ability to work on own initiative
- Exposure to a similar practice or industries is advantageous

Location and Reporting
This role is based in our London office, and reports into the Associate Director, EMEA EIPAF. Our standard office hours are 09:30-18:00, with a current requirement for 3 days in the office per week.
