As Head of Year, you will play a key role in creating that positive environment.
With a particular focus on vulnerable students, you will provide strong pastoral support and leadership, helping young people overcome barriers to learning, attendance, behaviour and wellbeing.
Working closely with the Assistant Headteacher (Behaviour and Attendance), the wider pastoral team, Inclusion team, SENDCo, teaching staff, families and external agencies, you will help ensure students receive the right support at the right time.
You will monitor progress and wellbeing, develop targeted interventions, support excellent attendance and behaviour, and build strong relationships with students and their families.
This is a varied and rewarding role for someone who understands the challenges young people can face and is confident responding to sensitive or complex situations.
You will need to combine empathy and strong relationship-building skills with clear expectations, sound judgement and the ability to work collaboratively across the school.
Previous experience of working with children or young people is essential, ideally within an educational setting, alongside a strong understanding of safeguarding, attendance, behaviour and additional needs.
