Overview
We are seeking a self‑motivated geotechnics Associate Director to join our busy London studio. The role includes technical and financial responsibility for multiple projects, managing a team of technical people, and participating in senior management team activities.
Whitby Wood works on a wide range of project typologies and scales across the UK and internationally. We look for an individual who can drive projects on their own initiative while collaborating effectively with a team.

Responsibilities
- Lead technical and financial work across multiple geotechnical projects.
- Manage and develop a team of technical professionals.
- Participate actively in senior management discussions and decisions.
- Drive business development efforts and contribute to project growth.
- Maintain best practice in ground engineering and stay updated on industry market conditions.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a degree (or equivalent) in an appropriate engineering discipline.
- Chartered status with ICE, GSL, or IOM3.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with initiative and leadership.
- Proven track record of delivering completed projects.
- Self‑motivation and team management capability.
