This is a full-time, on-site role in Whitby, North Yorkshire for a Canteen Assistant. Duties to include:
- Maintaining a hygienic, pleasant, and welcoming canteen environment.
- Assisting with the ordering of stock and overseeing stock levels for food and ingredients required.
- Ensuring stock rotation of ingredients.
- Preparation of meals as per health and safety requirements and customer requirements, always prepared in a clean and hygienic manner.
- Assisting with the maintenance and hygiene of Canteen equipment e.g. coffee machines, vending machines, fridges, and freezers to include cleaning of cooking equipment.
- Following all allergen management procedures and associated activity of all ingredients in the Canteen.
- Conducting temperature checks as per the requirements, this includes hot food, refrigerated and frozen equipment.
Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is preferred but not essential as full training will be provided.
- Knowledge of food safety practices is advantageous.
- Good communication skills, with a focus on customer service and maintaining a pleasant canteen environment.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment during busy periods.
