Here at Whitbread, we are looking for a hands-on and experienced Cloud Engineer – DevOps (AWS & Azure) to join our platform team, focused on building and managing scalable, secure, and automated infrastructure across a multi-cloud environment.
This role is ideal for someone with deep experience in cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, and infrastructure as code, who enjoys enabling application teams through reliable and self-service platform tooling.
Salary: £75,000 depending on experience

As a Cloud Engineer within our platform team, you will design, build, and manage cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure using infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, Bicep).
You will be responsible for ensuring infrastructure aligns with the Well-Architected Framework (AWS & Azure), incorporating best practices for reliability, security, cost-efficiency, and performance. Alongside the above, you will operate and manage Kubernetes clusters (EKS, AKS), including upgrades, configuration, networking, and security as well as host and maintain internal developer tooling and shared services within Kubernetes or cloud-native environments.
What you’ll need:
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS and Azure cloud services, infrastructure, and networking.
- Knowledge of and experience applying the AWS and Azure Well-Architected Framework in real-world infrastructure design.
- Proficiency with infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform, Bicep, Helm).
- Strong communication skills to liaise with various levels of stakeholders.
