Here at Whitbread, we are looking for a hands-on and experienced Cloud Engineer – DevOps (Azure) to join our platform team, focused on building and managing scalable, secure, and automated infrastructure across a multi-cloud environment. This role is ideal for someone with deep experience in cloud development, Kubernetes, and Terraform, who enjoys enabling application teams through reliable and self-service platform tooling.

What you’ll be doing
As a Cloud Engineer within our platform team, you will design, build, and manage cloud infrastructure across Azure using infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, Bicep). You will be responsible for ensuring infrastructure aligns with the Well-Architected Framework (Azure), incorporating best practices for reliability, security, cost-efficiency, and performance. Alongside the above, you will operate and manage Kubernetes clusters (EKS, AKS), including upgrades, configuration, networking, and security as well as host and maintain internal developer tooling and shared services within Kubernetes or cloud-native environments.
What you’ll need
- Must have strong hands-on experience with Azure cloud services, infrastructure, and networking.
- Extensive experience of Cloud Development
- Proficiency with writing Terraform from scratch
- Expertise in Kubernetes (EKS, AKS), including deployment management, RBAC, networking, and autoscaling.
- Extensive experience coding Terraform and Kubernetes as opposed to maintaining.
