Whitaker Smith are exclusively partnering with an ambitious, fast-growing SME looking to appoint a Management Accountant in a newly created position. This is an outstanding opportunity for someone who enjoys analysing data, solving problems and turning numbers into meaningful commercial insight whilst overseeing all internal finance and leading a small team of 2-3.
Role:
- Producing monthly management accounts, forecasts and budgets for the business
- Working with the FD on acquisitions, ensuring smooth integration to group
- Leading a team of 2-3 people (Junior Accounts) ensuring their development and training
- Overseeing monthly analysis and reconciliation of high volume data, identifying trends, variances and opportunities for improvement.
- Supporting on future acquisition targets through detailed commercial and financial analysis alongside the FD
- Producing weekly and monthly KPI reporting, providing meaningful insight to support business performance and decision making.
- Analysing acquisition performance against expectations and preparing reports for senior management, delivering numbers to the Directors/board
- Supporting continuous improvements in reporting, finance processes and data quality through strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
- Collaborating closely with the Finance Director and wider leadership team, providing commercial insight to support future growth.
Experience:
- Studying CIMA/ACCA OR QBE
- Experience working in a growing SME environment is absolutely essential (under £30m turnover)
- Experience managing a small team essential
- Hands on, agile and keen to continue developing your experience
