We are looking for an Established Garment Technologist to join us here at Whistles.
As a key member of the team, you will focus on the quality and technical excellence of our woven product including trousers, jackets, dresses and jumpsuits. By doing so the Established Garment Technologist will implement and maintain efficient processes, ensuring our product and supply chain comply with all relevant ethical regulations and standards.
In this role key accountabilities include:
- Technical expertise: Leading weekly fit sessions and demonstrating a deep expertise in garment construction, materials and manufacturing processes.
- Supplier compliance and management: Building a strong relationship with suppliers, overseeing onboarding and ethical management practices.
- Fabric development: Collaborating with the fabric team on fabric development, evaluation and testing.
- Leadership: Coaching and developing the Assistant Garment Technologist on the department, fostering a positive and collaborative working environment.
- Commercial awareness: Conduct regular store visits and competitor research to stay informed about market trends and customer preferences.
- Distribution Centre training: Sharing expertise and advising colleagues on AQL inspection and repair guidelines, ensuring woven products are accurately reviewed and processed.
As the Established Garment Technologist you'll be someone who brings a strong understanding of garment construction within the event wear space, pattern cutting, grading, and testing to a diverse range of event apparel. Your technical expertise will be crucial to your success, and you'll be known for your sharp attention to detail. You'll also be a confident communicator, effectively building and managing relationships with our Design and Buying teams, as well as our suppliers.
