Job Description

At Parcelhub in Leicester, we are seeking a motivated and practical individual to join our depot management team as a Team Leader.

You will play a crucial role in our busy collection and dispatch service, supervising a small team of drivers and warehouse operatives — all while ensuring smooth operations on the ground.

This is a working leadership role, meaning you’ll lead by example in the warehouse, get behind the wheel when needed, and step up in the supervisor's absence.

Full training will be provided where necessary, and for the right candidate, this is a great stepping stone into further management.

About the Role

What You’ll Be Doing:

As a Team Leader, you'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth and safe running of daily depot operations. You’ll support the team by maintaining high standards, promoting best practices, and keeping everything moving efficiently.

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment throughout the depot.
  • Ensuring parcels and palletised stock are accurately processed, labelled, and ready for dispatch.
  • Overseeing safe and correct loading operations.
  • Managing daily returns in line with SLA requirements.
  • Ensuring timely completion of operational paperwork and reporting updates when required.
  • Monitoring use and return of depot assets (equipment, keys, etc.).
  • Supporting adherence to site policies, including security checks, drug & alcohol procedures, and absence management.
  • Encouraging a positive team culture with a focus on safety, accountability, and performance.
  • Assisting with investigations and promoting continuous improvement.
  • Acting as a key holder for site open/close responsibilities and completing daily checks.

Additional Information

Contracted Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 11:00 – 19:30 with flexibility to work additional hours as needed based on business demands.

  • Willingness to undertake Fire Marshal and First Aid training.
  • Solid understanding of health and safety in a warehouse environment.
  • A clean driving licence.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience in the parcel or logistics industry.
  • Mental Health First Aider or awareness of employee wellbeing support.
  • Counterbalance forklift licence.
  • Confident in change management and giving/receiving constructive feedback.
