We're looking for a commercially driven Business Development Manager to join Whistl's Fulfilment division. You'll focus on identifying and securing new business, managing opportunities from initial contact through to contract agreement and handover. This role suits someone with strong fulfilment/3PL experience who can build relationships, develop tailored solutions, and deliver revenue growth.

About the Role

  • Deliver new business revenue and margin targets
  • Build, manage and convert a strong sales pipeline
  • Identify and win new customers through proactive prospecting and networking
  • Lead the full sales process: qualification, solution design, proposal, negotiation and close
  • Prepare and present tenders, proposals and client presentations
  • Work closely with Operations, Finance and Commercial teams to develop tailored solutions
  • Ensure accurate pipeline management and CRM updates
  • Support smooth onboarding and handover to operational teams
  • Identify cross-sell opportunities across the wider business
  • Represent the business at industry events and client meetings

Requirements

  • Strong track record of winning new business in fulfilment, warehousing, or 3PL
  • Confidence engaging and influencing senior decision-makers
  • A proactive, target-driven mindset with a focus on results
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities without losing momentum
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills

Additional Requirements

  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to attend sites regularly and industry events as required
  • Willingness to travel, including overnight stays
