At Whistl Bedford we are a leading logistics company looking for Class 1 and Class 2 HGV Drivers to join our team.
Role Overview
As a Whistl HGV Driver you will be responsible for transporting goods on pre‑planned routes, delivering exceptional service and ensuring customers’ goods arrive on time and in perfect condition.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain HGV vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Ensure the timely and secure delivery of goods to designated locations.
- Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation accurately and promptly.
- Provide exceptional customer service.
- Adhere to all relevant traffic laws, safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety issues.
Working Hours
42 hours guaranteed, with overtime paid after 42 hours. Class 1 drivers can work day and night shifts; Class 2 drivers work day shift.
Qualifications
- Valid Class 1 licence (Cat C+E) and Class 2 licence (Cat C) and CPC qualification.
- Digital tachograph card.
- Excellent driving record with no major violations or accidents.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws and regulations.
- Ability to handle physical demands.
- Good communication skills to understand instructions and liaise with colleagues and customers.
- Exceptional time management and organisational skills.

Potential overtime earnings of up to £9,000 per year (Class 1 based on an average of 8 hours overtime per week).
