Whispering Smith is the UK's largest importer, wholesaler, and distributor of menswear and womenswear, and a global leader in design, production, and delivery. Our in-house brands include Brave Soul, Legacy Studios, Going Somewhere and Good for Nothing, and retail partners include ASOS, Nordstrom, Zalando and more. We are youth to mid-market fashion, specialising in trend products.

Role DescriptionThis is a maternity cover for our Women's Wear Designer – preferably with experience across multi-category including wovens, jersey, denim & swimwear. It is a on-site role based from our studio in Fitzrovia, London. The primary responsibilities include trend research, CAD designs, tech packs and assisting with product development including trims and fit. The Women's Wear Designer will work closely with the design team to create collections for our brands.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Sketching and Fashion Design – must be skilled in Adobe Illustrator for CAD design and making tech packs. Experience of Adobe Photoshop a plus.
  • Experience with Textiles and Product Development – must have a strong knowledge of woven and jersey fabric bases
  • Strong Research and presentation skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and creativity
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a related field
  • Must have experience in doing in-house fits with the technical team
  • Great communication skills, confident presenting designs to team and buyers
