Key Responsibilities
- Working closely with the Executive Producer on all casting issues.
- Talent Outreach: actively scout, source, and recruit contributors using industry contacts and creative advertising.
- Auditions & Interviews: conduct initial screening calls, lead auditions, and interview applicants to gauge their on‐screen suitability, personality, and storytelling potential.
- Due Diligence: perform thorough background checks via Lexis Nexis, including vetting social media, to flag potential controversies and ensure editorial safety.
- Pitching Contributor Stories: compile detailed biographies, pitch notes, and video highlight reels of top candidates to present to executive producers and network commissioners.
- Compliance & Welfare: strictly enforce duty of care protocols, safeguarding, and data protection regulations (GDPR).
Skills and Experience Required:
- Casting experience on broadcast studio gameshows.
- Storytelling & Editorial Judgment: intuitive eye for compelling character.
- Networking: extensive contacts book and ability to build rapport quickly.
- Regulatory Knowledge: thorough understanding of broadcasting standards, diversity guidelines, and compliance.
- Team Leadership: experience managing and mentoring junior team members such as casting researchers and assistant producers.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong team ethic and ability to prioritise workloads with ease, working in a pressurised team environment.
- Ability to work effectively with others and manage relationships.
- Ability to manage workload, flexibility and adaptability to changing workloads.
Location: Whisper Offices, Salford
Working Days: Five‐day week, with four days in the office and one day working from home. Some flexibility is required, including occasional weekend work depending on production needs. Lieu days will be given for any additional days worked. Flexitime is available, subject to production requirements.
