We are looking for an experienced Junior Production Manager to join our Whisper Documentary team in Kew, working on an exciting new series, and to provide support across the wider department. The post would suit a JPM who is confident working as part of a large team and to tight deadlines. You must be able to work on your own initiative whilst being confident about managing junior team members and knowing when to refer up. Experience of working in the documentary genre is desirable.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing direct support to the Line Producer & Production Managers assisting with the communication of key production information to Producers and the editorial team
  • Planning shoots in the UK and overseas
  • Overseeing the delivery of call sheets with accurate and detailed movement orders
  • Understanding of Health & Safety policies, to support writing of Risk Assessments
  • Preparing budgets for various production types and forecasting cost managers, reporting any budgetary concerns
  • Raising purchase orders, dealing with expenses, and liaising with finance team where appropriate
  • Negotiating rates with external suppliers & crew
  • Provide line management and support to Junior members of the team
  • Clearing music & archive material and reporting correctly
  • Completing Post Production paperwork

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
  • At least two credits as a Junior Production Manager - experience in Documentary is desirable
  • Experience of working on projects for a range of clients / broadcasters, experience working on projects for SVODs is an advantage
  • Experienced and confident in managing workflows across all stages of production — from development and pre-production to post-production delivery
  • Technical knowledge; camera kit / uploading of rushes
  • Skilled in managing and supporting direct reports
  • You will have good prior knowledge of rights & music clearance; post production paperwork inc & archive clearance
  • Excellent IT proficiency
  • Comfortable working in a busy ever-changing environment and able to prioritise tasks and work under pressure
  • Good communication skills and an aptitude to learn new tasks & systems as well as a strong team ethic
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work on your own initiative
  • A proactive attitude to work and promoting a positive work ethic in the team
Location: The base for this position is Kew, London.
Working Days: 5 day week, x4 days in office and x1 day WFH. You will be expected to work with the team to plan a schedule based on production requirement. Lieu days will be given for any days worked over a five-day week. Whisper offer the option of flexitime hours subject to production requirements.
Start: ASAP till beginning of August 2026, based on experience.
