We work onsite 4+ days a week, with our team based in Auburn Hills, Michigan, and Juneau, Wisconsin. This role will be based out of London, England. Our team of 700+ passionate pet people thrives on collaboration, innovation, and the occasional office cameo from a four-legged friend.
The European eCommerce Manager will drive the performance and growth of our DTC websites across the UK, France, Germany, and EU-English markets. This role oversees revenue, profitability, localization, and product launches while collaborating cross-functionally to scale Whisker’s global DTC presence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Owns and delivers on DTC revenue goals for each European site, ensuring consistent growth and profitability across all key markets.
- Collaborates closely with the EMEA Retail Sales Manager to align channel strategies across DTC, retail, and Amazon, ensuring a cohesive approach to market growth and brand presence.
- Owns and improves performance KPIs across international sites: revenue, AOV, order rate, conversion rate, profitability, time on site, and bounce rate.
- Partners with marketing to plan and execute localized campaigns, promotions, and A/B tests.
- Aligns with Paid Media teams to ensure advertising campaigns drive to market-appropriate site experiences.
- Leads the launch of new products across international sites, coordinating timelines, content, and translations.
- Collaborates with the Director of International on product assortment and merchandising strategy, including regional bundles, SKU variations, free shipping thresholds, and pricing and promotion strategies.
- Partners with the Director of International on broader DTC strategy and expansion planning, including evaluating new European markets, languages, and regional opportunities.
- Launch and scale DTC sites in new countries or languages.
- Ensures all site content is accurately localized and culturally relevant for each region.
- Uses Whisker’s translation management platform, Localize, to update, review, and publish translated content across international DTC sites, ensuring accuracy and timely deployment.
- Works with Development Team to implement localized checkout features, financing tools (e.g., Affirm, PayPal), and UX optimizations.
- Analyzes site performance via Magento, GA4, and Optimizely to identify, test, and execute conversion improvements.
- Leads quarterly business reviews with marketing and cross-functional teams to report on KPIs and align on regional plans.
- Establish a consistent reporting cadence highlighting performance insights and actionable strategies for each international site.
- 5-8+ years managing European eCommerce websites with full ownership of KPIs.
- Experience launching new products and assortments across global DTC sites.
- Strategic mindset with a strong analytical foundation; confident reporting on metrics like time on site and bounce rate.
- Demonstrated success in markets such as the UK and EU.
- Experience managing external localization partners or vendors.
- Hands-on expertise with Magento (Adobe Commerce), Optimizely, and Google Analytics 4.
- Working fluency in English is mandatory.
- Collaborative, resourceful, and comfortable operating cross-functionally.
- French and/or German fluency.
- Maintains confidentiality of proprietary information.
- Ability to maintain a professional atmosphere in a fast-paced environment with numerous interactions and interruptions.
- A high degree of initiative, self-motivation, and ability to motivate others.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with Team Members and colleagues.
- Comfortable with office pets (cats, dogs).
- Background in pet tech, home goods, or consumer electronics.
- Spanish or Italian fluency a plus.
- Familiarity with multi-currency setups, regional compliance, VAT/Tax compliance, and international shipping.
- Experience with merchandising strategy and A/B testing in localized eCommerce environments.
- Ability to write or adapt compelling copy for international audiences.
- Previous experience managing or optimizing sales performance on Amazon marketplaces.
