We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Prep Chef to join the new kitchen team. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing high-quality ingredients and supporting the chefs in delivering authentic and consistent dishes. Candidates must have a good understanding of Indian cuisine, including traditional ingredients, spices, preparation methods, and cooking techniques.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare vegetables, meats, seafood, sauces, marinades, and other ingredients to specification.
  • Assist chefs with daily mise en place and kitchen preparation.
  • Ensure all food preparation meets company standards and food safety regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen workstations and storage areas.
  • Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management.
  • Support the kitchen team during busy service periods as required.
  • Follow health, safety, and hygiene procedures at all times.

Requirements

  • Previous and stable experience in professional kitchens is required.
  • Strong knowledge of Indian cuisine, ingredients, spices, and preparation methods.
  • Ability to prepare ingredients efficiently while maintaining high standards.
  • Understanding of food hygiene and HACCP procedures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
  • Must be able to work Tuesday-Saturday 6am -2pm.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience working in an Indian restaurant, hotel, or high-volume catering environment.
  • Knowledge of regional Indian cuisines such as North Indian, South Indian, Punjabi, Gujarati, or street food concepts.
  • Food Hygiene Certificate.
