About the Role

We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and committed Teaching Assistant to join our team. This role will involve supporting children across the classroom, working closely with the class teacher and wider school staff to deliver high-quality learning experiences and ensure all children are fully supported. Whether you are supporting the whole class, working with small groups, or delivering 1:1 support for children with additional needs, your role will be crucial in helping every child feel safe, happy, and able to achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide cover for teaching staff, including leading class teaching (under supervision), PPA cover, short-term cover for the absence of other staff.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver learning activities (including whole-class teaching) under an agreed system of supervision.
  • Assess and report on pupil progress across a range of curriculum areas, using various monitoring and evaluation methods.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils to support their learning, wellbeing, and personal development.
  • Work collaboratively with class teachers, support staff, and families to create a nurturing and inclusive environment.
  • Maintain confidentiality, uphold safeguarding procedures, and model the school’s values in all interactions.

We Are Looking For

  • A highly skilled and confident practitioner, ideally HLTA-qualified or working towards HLTA status.
  • Someone with experience delivering whole-class teaching under supervision, including for PPA and short-term cover.
  • A professional who can plan, assess, and provide feedback to support pupil progress across the curriculum.
  • A positive role model with the ability to lead, mentor, and support other support staff.
  • A strong communicator who collaborates effectively with teaching teams, parents, and external professionals.
  • A committed, resilient individual who values inclusion, upholds safeguarding duties, and contributes to the wider school life.
