This role offers a competitive salary, 28 days holiday a year plus Bank Holidays and a fantastic pension scheme. Location: London, office based with occasional visits to Capel Manor and Cardiff required. Salary £32,000 - £35,000 per annum.
About the role
We have an opportunity for an experienced Health and Safety Officer to join us here at Which?. The role will be responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of health, safety and environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, and initiatives to ensure safe workplaces for all employees, visitors, tenants, and contractors. This role involves promoting a proactive culture of safety, sustainability, and environmental awareness, maintaining compliance with legislation, and providing operational support for HSE activities. Role will also support broader Workplace Experience initiatives as required.
Key responsibilities include:
- Compliance: Develop health, safety and environmental policies, processes, and procedures, manage RAMS and permits, maintain accurate records, ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety law regulations and best practices, aligning with company strategy.
- Risk Management: Conduct regular workplace inspections and risk assessments - implement controls, and mitigate identified hazards.
- Reporting: Monitor, investigate, and report incidents; provide health and safety performance updates with insights and trends.
- Emergency Preparedness: Support emergency planning, drills and crisis management for safety readiness.
- Environmental: Support the development and delivery of our sustainability initiatives by staying informed on legislation and best practices, contributing to emissions reduction efforts, assisting with SECR/ESOS reporting, and helping to set and track workplace sustainability targets.
- Training & Tenants: Coordinate training, communicate health and safety awareness, and ensure tenants adhere to safety responsibilities with clear induction materials and periodic inspections.
About you:
- Proven HSE management experience.
- Strong knowledge of HSE regulations, holds IOSH Managing Safely Professional.
- Methodical approach to problem-solving.
- Experience using MS office and Google programmes.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
