Job summary
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Technical Officer (ATO) to join our friendly and supportive team.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a growing, patient-centred service delivering high-quality diagnostic and therapeutic cardiorespiratory care. Working alongside experienced healthcare professionals, you will play a key role in supporting the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients across a range of cardiorespiratory services.
As an Assistant Technical Officer, you will contribute to the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate care while gaining valuable experience and developing your skills within a dynamic and collaborative clinical environment. We are committed to supporting your professional growth and offer excellent opportunities for learning and development.
If you are passionate about patient care, enjoy working as part of a multidisciplinary team, and are keen to build a career in healthcare science and cardiorespiratory services, we would love to hear from you.
Main duties of the job
Your main duties will be to support Clinical Physiologists in delivering a range of diagnostic procedures within the cardiorespiratory service. This will include recording 12-lead electrocardiograms (ECGs), perform spirometry assessments, and fitting ambulatory monitoring equipment, ensuring patients receive a professional, safe, and high-quality service.
We are committed to supporting your training and professional development. You will receive comprehensive training to develop competency in both the performance and interpretation of 12-lead ECGs and spirometry, with opportunities to work towards relevant professional qualifications and examinations.
The successful candidate will be expected to take an active role in their own learning and development by maintaining continuing professional development (CPD), attending relevant training and educational opportunities, and keeping their knowledge and skills up to date. This commitment will support the delivery of a high-quality, patient-centred service and provide a strong foundation for career progression within cardiorespiratory healthcare science.
This role would be well suited to an individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a strong attention to detail, and a genuine interest in developing a career within diagnostic and therapeutic cardiorespiratory services.
