Job description

Full time, term time only, permanent position from Feb/Mar 2025. Salary: Commencing at £25,918.00 per annum (Full Time Equivalent). This is an actual salary for Term Time only of £22,364.24 per annum. An allowance of £4,208.93 per annum is payable for the Head of Year part of the role. WHGS is an all-through school with a strong reputation and high aspirations for students.

Responsibilities

  • Support our students as a Learning Mentor and Head of Year, including current responsibilities for Year 8.
  • Collaborate with the IMPACT Centre team to offer personalised learning for vulnerable students.
  • Lead a year group to monitor and support the academic and personal wellbeing of every student.
  • Promote personal, social and emotional development and a culture of participation and achievement.
  • Work effectively as part of a supportive team and communicate confidently with staff, parents and carers.
  • Maintain a calm and consistent approach in all interactions.

Essential qualifications

  • Minimum grade A-C or 9-4 in GCSE English Language and Mathematics (or equivalent).
  • TA3/Level 3 qualification.
