An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Student Counsellor/Therapist to join the Mental Health and Wellbeing Team. The Counselling service currently offers Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Person-Centred Counselling, within a focussed short-term intervention framework. The team offers individual support in person and online. The Team’s practice is influenced by the Service’s membership of the BACP.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individual therapeutic interventions.
- Formulate appropriate therapeutic interventions according to clients’ mental health presentations.
- Liaise and build effective relationships with internal and external representatives of other disciplines or agencies.
Qualifications:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent.
- Professional postgraduate qualification in a relevant counselling or psychotherapeutic discipline.
- Experience in a similar role in student support in higher education.
- Knowledge and awareness of issues relating to mental health and mental health needs.
As these roles involve Regulated work with Adults and/or Children the successful candidates will require PVG Scheme membership.
