About the role
The Fashion Retail Academy’s Counselling team is growing, and we are looking for a part-time addition to the team. The Counsellors that make up our team use a wide range of theoretical models though most would describe their working as integrative, as they endeavour to meet the needs of our individuals. All Counsellors adhere and follow the BACP Ethical Framework guidelines.
The role will provide short to medium term counselling to individuals that encourages healthy mental and emotional development while promoting longer-term resilience. Early intervention and support are key to ensuring we support individuals and enable them to achieve to the best of their ability.
About you
- You are required to have a Diploma or Degree in Counselling or Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (Level 6 or 7).
- You must be familiar with and follow the ethical framework of the BACP guidelines when working in education.
- It is essential that you have an awareness of Further Education, a good understanding of equality and diversity issues, safeguarding, health and well-being issues, and pastoral care support measures.
- You should also have experience of working therapeutically with young people.
- The successful candidate will be personable, highly compassionate, and genuinely interested in supporting young adult mental health in education.
- You must be a confident communicator and be able to build rapport quickly with students and develop positive, cooperative, and effective working relationships within a multidisciplinary team.
