Quality Supervisor Department: Quality Employment Type: Full Time Location: Chester, CT Description Job Title : Supervisor Department: Quality Reports to: Director of Quality Schedule: Monday – Friday 7am – 3:30pm Facility location: Chester, CT Summary: Oversees and provides guidance for quality personnel. This role requires coordination with various departments to ensure that all processes and products meet the established quality standards. Developing and implementing quality improvements through CAPA initiatives and ensuring customer satisfaction. Duties and Responsibilities: · Leads a project team or multiple smaller project teams or leads a functional team or unit in area of expertise. · Prepares, monitors, and may be responsible for budget, staffing, and or business/operational results of a functional team or project. · Directly manages individual contributors and group leaders. · Maintains area quality system in compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and specific customer requirements. · Monitors effectiveness of inspection function and implement changes as needed. · Assist in internal and supplier audits for compliance with regulatory and company requirements. · Analyses quality data to identify improvement opportunities and initiates actions for improvement. · Assist in organizing and promoting companywide quality improvement efforts. · Ensures adherence to and compliance with established company quality policies, practices and SOPs. · Designs appropriate work schedules for department employees and plans daily work assignments to maintain adequate personnel coverage in support of manufacturing activities. · Collaborate with other departments to identify and resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions. · Oversees, provides, and plans training for new and current staff, including developing and presenting presentations. Scope · Coordinates and supervises the daily activities of business or technical support or production team. · Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion; coordinates work activities with other supervisors. · Decisions are guided by policies, procedures and business plan; receive guidance and oversight from manager. · Typically, does not spend more than 20% of time performing the work supervised. Education and Experience · High school diploma and 6+ years of experience in Quality Assurance within a manufacturing environment · Leadership experience preferred · BA/BS degree w/2+ years’ experience preferred experience in Quality Assurance within a manufacturing environment · Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite All Employees Shall: · Comply with the EH&S Policy and applicable regulatory and company EH&S rules and requirements · Report to supervision conditions or practices that are either unsafe or that may adversely impact the environment, to ensure prompt resolution of potential hazards · Attend scheduled EH&S training program · Actively support the organization’s efforts to meet or exceed EH&S goals and plans · Recommend improved EH&S practices Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, and third parties. This ability to communicate requires the employee to be conversant in English as the majority of our workforce and the third parties that we encounter only speak English.
