Manages and oversees all aspects of moderately complex projects to ensure they are completed on-time and within budget. Has overall responsibility for managing scope and schedule, as well as interfacing with internal and external resources in support of cross‑functional teams related to aviation products.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for large projects or multiple tasks within functional discipline.
- Contributes to their team by applying their knowledge of discipline.
- Works with moderate guidance on projects with short‑term focus.
- Has a solid understanding of the fundamentals of the discipline and role – continuing to develop specialized knowledge.
- Coordinates internal resources and external resources for execution of projects.
- Ensures that all projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget.
- Assists in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
- Ensures resource availability and allocation.
- Develops a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress.
- Manages changes to the project scope and project schedule using appropriate verification techniques.
- Measures project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Reports and escalates to management as needed.
- Contributes to creating and maintaining comprehensive project documentation.
- Meets with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project.
- Tracks project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long‑term goals.
- Develops comprehensive project plans to be shared with management as well as other staff members.
- Attends conferences and training as required to maintain proficiency.
- Develops spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs.
- Prepares and completes action plans.
- Implements production, productivity, quality, and customer‑service standards.
- Resolves problems, completes audits, identifies trends, determines system improvements, and implements change.
