Summary: Performs outside maintenance and maintains the grounds.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Has advanced and specialized expertise, typically developed through a combination of job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience.
  • Completes assignments daily.
  • Proposes improvements to processes.
  • Works autonomously within established procedures and practices.
  • Under minimal supervision, maintains the outside of the facilities.
  • Ensures all lawns, grounds and flower beds are maintained to Whelen standards.
  • Adapts to new procedures, techniques, tools, material and/or equipment to meet the more complex requirements of the position.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to accomplish assigned tasks and goals with other grounds personnel.
  • Mows and dresses up the Whelen property.
  • Repairs all gardens to ensure they look their best.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet multiple deadlines while maintaining a cooperative working relationship with employees and supervisors.
  • Operates equipment that you are qualified on with care.
  • Removes snow and maintains a safe working environment.
  • Works with the JIRA system to ensure everything is documented.

Education and Experience:

Have 3 years’ experience landscaping.

Requirements:

High School w/3+ years’ experience.

Physical demands and abilities:

  • Able to lift 35 pounds.
  • Regularly perform repetitive tasks.
  • Able to stand for entire shift.
