The Electrical Test Technician is responsible for building, maintaining, and improving production test fixtures used to support electrical testing in a manufacturing environment. This role includes troubleshooting and repairing test fixtures and associated components down to the component level. The technician will also identify opportunities to improve test efficiency, reliability, and overall optimization. This position works independently with minimal supervision.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Build, assemble, and validate production electrical test fixtures
  • Troubleshoot and repair test fixtures and related components to the component level
  • Repair and rework wire harnesses and electrical assemblies used in test fixtures
  • Diagnose electrical failures using schematics, drawings, and test documentation
  • Identify and implement improvements to testing efficiency, repeatability, and throughput
  • Support production by responding to product issues and test fixture support in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, modifications, and improvements
  • Communicate effectively with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams

Education and Experience

  • Strong hands-on skills with the ability to use common hand tools effectively
  • Proficient in the use of electronic test equipment, including:
  • Digital multimeters
  • Oscilloscopes
  • Function generators
  • Solid understanding of both AC and DC electrical theory
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems to the component level
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
  • Preferred Knowledge & Experience

    • Understanding of electrical systems for automotive applications
    • Familiarity with production and manufacturing processes
    • Experience supporting high-volume or production test environments

    Education & Experience

    • High School diploma with 1–3+ years of relevant experience, or Associate degree (AA/AS) or Technical School certification with 6+ months of relevant experience
