Reporting to the on-Duty Manager, Operations Controllers on shift perform all functions required to ensure a safe and punctual schedule is delivered across our customer Aurigny Air Services network, whilst meeting their expectations regarding reliability and punctuality. The Operations Controller works closely with other departments at the Aurigny HQ in Guernsey and at outstations to manage the flying programme within a three-day window. Under the supervision of the Duty Manager, they are responsible for monitoring, pre-empting, and reacting to disruption affecting day-to-day operations. This role is based onsite in our Gatwick office and allows for a healthy work-life balance with shift patterns as follows: 3 earlies 2 lates - 5 days off / 2 earlies, 2 lates - 5 days off / 2 earlies, 2 lates - 4 days off. Earlies: 05:45 - 17:45, Lates: 10:00 - 22:00.

Responsibilities

  • Crew rostering for all relevant flights.
  • Ensuring the company FTL (Flight Time Limited) scheme is adhered to.
  • Maintain a flight watch on all flights during the shift ensuring that all flights operate on-time.
  • Liaise with all handling agents keeping them up to date with the daily schedule and any disruption that may occur.
  • Monitor flight plans and slots for all airports on the network.
  • Produce reports for the management team as required.
  • Inputting and updating spreadsheets relevant to flight safety.
  • Monitor weather and NOTAM reports for all relevant destinations.
  • Working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Managing and maintaining high workload and service levels.

Qualifications

  • Commercial awareness combined with interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Flexibility towards working shift system (12-hour shift) that can change at short notice due to technical or weather issues.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook (including diaries and email).
  • Be well organised and pro-active in approach to responsibilities with ability to work on own initiative and to specific deadlines being confident in making decisions.
  • Working/experience in an OCC role ideally with other airlines.

Desirable Skills

  • Crew Rostering experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of PPS (Flight Planning) system.
  • Extensive knowledge of NavBlue / N-OC system.
  • Ideally possess at least 1 years’ experience within a commercial airline operations department.
  • Ideally have working knowledge of UK CAA FTL’s.
