About the role

Wheatley Group has a strong Procurement Team which supports a wide range of procurement requirements across the Group, to deliver high quality services and value-for-money to our customers. We are looking for an experienced Procurement Category Specialist to develop, agree and implement specific procurement strategies, using strategic sourcing techniques, best practice and sound contractual and commercial skills to support our growing new build and investment programmes. A key strand to this role will be working to deliver maximum output from the developer led and section 75 housing delivery, ensuring highest standards of quality, and value add outcomes are delivered.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an experienced procurement professional who can develop effective processes and procedures for managing the creation of Group frameworks, with the ability to maximise commercial competitions in accordance with public sector legislative procurement regulations. We expect the successful candidate to manage the end-to-end procurement process for the category of new build and construction projects, supporting the group's delivery of capital and investment works. You should have a strong background in procurement with knowledge and understanding of construction contracts. The future work plan includes procurement of a Group New Build framework, a range of Investment works packages and renewal contracts. It is essential that you are qualified or working towards a MCIPS qualification and desirable that you are educated to a degree level.
