About the role:

The role has a focus on providing independent, risk-based landlord assurance to protect customer health and wellbeing, ensure regulatory compliance and support effective Healthy Homes delivery. As a key technical specialist within the Healthy Homes Team, the role acts as an escalated point of expertise for recurring, complex, high-risk cases. You will provide enhanced technical support to City Building Healthy Homes Inspectors, identifying root causes of damp, mould and condensation and advising on effective, sustainable solutions. You will demonstrate a robust approach to landlord assurance and compliance, ensuring all activity aligns with relevant legislation, regulatory requirements, policies and procedures. This includes undertaking surveys, providing clear technical advice, maintaining accurate records and ensuring appropriate follow-up actions to protect customers and housing stock. A strong understanding of the health, wellbeing and social impacts associated with damp and mould is essential. You will deliver a high standard of customer service, particularly where customers may be living in challenging circumstances, ensuring communication is professional, empathetic and customer-focused at all times.

Who are we looking for?

  • Degree and/or professional qualification in a relevant discipline or a demonstrable level of experience and track record in a similar role within a regulated housing environment
  • Proven track record of delivering excellent customer services within social housing and repairs service in a performance driven environment
  • Excellent numeracy skills and ability to interpret evolving legislation and procedures
  • Proven experience in contract/project management
  • Experience of setting and managing project budgets
  • Experience of managing and co-ordinating consultant teams as required
  • Experience of working with contractors to drive continuous improvement around work processes and value for money
  • Proficient professional knowledge and track record in the inspection of building investment and repair works that minimises risk for non-compliance
  • Knowledge of the regulatory framework for Registered Social Landlords
  • Recognised project management or a related qualification
  • Full UK driving licence
