Salary: (SCP 45-48) £60,357 - £64,681 per annum

Contract: Permanent

Work pattern: 35 hours per week, worked Monday to Friday

Location: Agile Home-Based Worker with travel to Wheatley Group Offices

About the role

Wheatley Group’s finance team is committed to delivering excellent customer service and providing the financial support and advice needed to help the Group achieve its strategic priorities.

This role plays a key part in monitoring and appraising the Group’s ambitious new build housing programme and preparing financial reports and information for its development subsidiary. Key responsibilities of the role include decision support, new build project appraisals, management reporting, preparation of budgets and forecasts, and external statutory reporting.

You’ll work closely with the Group Financial Planning Manager, Financial Reporting teams and the development team to ensure accurate and timely reporting of information, a smooth budgeting process and excellent customer service. You will also support the wider business-planning process across the Group, providing cover and assistance to the Group Financial Planning Manager where required.

Who are we looking for?

You will be a qualified accountant with experience within a large organisation, ideally with a background in housing/construction/infrastructure. Ideally, you’ll have experience in project appraisal and cost monitoring, financial forecasting and the preparation of management and statutory accounts.

You’ll be confident working independently and be able to demonstrate experience of managing a challenging workload and meeting deadlines. Strong Excel skills are essential, along with an ability to produce and present clear and accessible financial information and reports to non-financial audiences.
