We are looking to appoint a full-time class teacher to join our school from September 2026. The successful candidate will:

  • Be confident to work with junior age children.
  • Be an enthusiastic committed practitioner with high expectations of our children and of themselves.
  • Be passionate about teaching and the promotion of a love of learning in children.
  • Have a good understanding of Key Stage 2 curriculum expectations.
  • Be hardworking, a team player and have a sense of humour.
  • Be able to follow professional advice and implement appropriate strategies to support learning.
  • Be able to work on their own initiative and be able to manage and organise their time effectively.
  • Be able to confidently communicate clearly with parents, carers and colleagues.
  • Show commitment to the safeguarding of children.

Wheatfields is a successful three form entry Junior School, with a clear and ambitious vision for continuous improvement. Our children are delightful, enthusiastic learners who are a pleasure to teach and our parents and carers are highly supportive of the school. The school is part of Ambition Education Trust and works in partnership with 4 other primary stage schools and 5 secondary schools, sharing best practice for all of our pupils.

The post is for a fixed term of one year in the first instance. Applications for the post close at 9 am on 4th June 2026 and interviews will take place on 10th June. Visits to the school are warmly welcomed. Applications are welcome from both experienced and early career teachers. Salary: MPS 1 - 6 depending on experience.
