You will act as the central point of oversight for keeping delivery on track, removing blockers, and keeping teams focused on the right priorities to maintain project quality.

Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities

  • Planning and guiding day‑to‑day delivery activity, making sure priorities, timelines, dependencies, and risks are clearly understood and well managed.
  • Keeping project schedules, roadmaps, and delivery plans clear and up to date, so teams have good visibility of workloads, priorities, and upcoming releases.
  • Keeping a close eye on delivery progress, spotting risks or changes early and working with teams to keep things moving in the right direction.
  • Acting as a central point of coordination during release cycles, sharing updates and flagging risks or changes clearly and proactively.
  • Working collaboratively with engineering leads to agree delivery estimates, sense‑check plans, and ensure timelines are realistic and achievable.
  • Helping to balance work across teams by considering capacity, skills, and priorities across multiple projects.
  • Making sure project tools, trackers, documentation, and reporting are well maintained, accurate, and easy for others to use.
  • Producing regular delivery and management updates that provide clear insight into progress, utilisation, and potential risks.
  • Looking for opportunities to improve delivery processes, tools, and ways of working, and supporting teams to embed consistent agile practices.
  • Turning business or client‑driven requests into clear delivery plans, user stories, and release schedules in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Maintaining a clear, joined‑up view of all active development work, ensuring delivery information is easy to access, understand, and share.

Requirements

We’re looking for an experienced, software‑focused Project Manager who has a strong understanding of how software is planned, built, tested, and released, and previous experience working with software engineers and technical leads to coordinate delivery across multiple teams, priorities, and workflows. The successful candidate will be organised, proactive, and pragmatic, able to adapt to shifting priorities whilst maintaining project momentum and quality. We’re looking for a strong communicator who can build trust with technical teams and act as a calm, reliable point of coordination throughout the delivery process.

  • Demonstrable experience in a software or technical delivery project management role, managing schedules, priorities, dependencies, and delivery risks across software projects.
  • Experience supporting or leading agile delivery, including sprint planning, backlog management, stand‑ups, and release coordination.
  • Confidence working closely with software engineers, technical leads, DevOps, and product stakeholders to keep delivery on track and resolve blockers.
  • A hands‑on approach to delivery ownership, proactively identifying risks, following up on actions, and ensuring work progresses as planned.
  • Experience maintaining delivery documentation, trackers, roadmaps, and reports to provide clear visibility for stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities at once.
  • Clear, confident communication skills, including the ability to challenge assumptions and ask the right questions when needed.
  • A proactive, problem‑solving mindset, with the confidence to investigate issues and drive them through to resolution.
  • The ability to work effectively with highly technical teams, creating visibility and structure without unnecessary process.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to stay calm, resilient, and organised during busy delivery periods.
  • A flexible, pragmatic approach to project management, applying the right tools and techniques for the context rather than rigidly following a single methodology.
