About the Role
Salary: cÂŁ62,000 DOE
Location: Sheffield/hybrid remote working, 2 days per week in‑office
Responsibilities
- Own and be accountable for end-to-end delivery of DevOps and IT projects.
- Lead project planning, execution, monitoring, and closure activities.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and roadmaps.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives.
- Manage infrastructure and IT projects, including office setups and global deployments.
- Ensure all project management tools and documentation are accurate and up to date.
- Allocate tasks effectively based on priorities, timelines, and team capacity.
- Monitor workload distribution to ensure optimal team utilization.
- Evaluate and challenge effort estimates to ensure realistic delivery timelines.
- Manage allocation of work to full‑time, temporary, part‑time, and seconded staff.
- Work closely with Software Engineering Project Management to align plans and dependencies.
- Conduct daily stand‑ups and regular project meetings to ensure alignment.
- Communicate goals, timelines, risks, and priorities clearly to all stakeholders.
- Provide regular status updates and monthly management reports.
- Ensure key stakeholders are informed of progress, risks, and deviations.
- Identify, assess, and proactively manage project risks and issues.
- Implement corrective actions to address deviations from plan.
- Maintain visibility of risks and mitigation strategies across all projects.
- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost‑effective delivery.
- Track and report on project spend, forecasts, and variances.
- Optimize resource utilization to control costs without compromising quality.
- Work with finance and leadership to align project costs with business objectives.
- Evaluate vendor and third‑party costs to ensure value for money.
- Promote and implement Agile and DevOps best practices.
- Define, document, and improve project management processes and standards.
- Continuously review tools, workflows and practices to drive efficiency.
- Gather feedback from teams and stakeholders to improve delivery processes.
- Adapt quickly to changing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to enhance systems and processes.
- Establish and maintain best practices for project governance and delivery.
Requirements
- We are looking for a proactive and dynamic Project Manager with a strong technical background gained within a client‑facing software/IT/DevOps environment.
- Strong project management expertise (Agile, Scrum, Kanban or hybrid).
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Experience with project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, and MS Project.
- Financial acumen with experience in budgeting and cost control.
- Ability to work across global teams and time zones.
- Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and challenge teams.
