Location: Office-based, Sheffield city centre
ZOO Digital is looking for a Finance Assistant to join our team in Sheffield. The role supports finance functions across UK and US entities, focusing on Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Bank Administration, Cash Management and Payroll.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Match and check information supplied by translator purchase orders; authorise invoices on SAGE software.
- Answer queries and emails through ZOO’s internal system, ECHO, in a timely manner.
- Onboard and maintain the pool of independent translators and voice talent.
- Collate expense reports and verify receipts.
- Enter invoices for UK and US entities as required, set up new bank templates and assist in weekly payment runs across currencies and payment methods.
- Assist with ad‑hoc reports as requested.
- Process monthly UK payroll and bi‑weekly US payroll; produce and reconcile payroll month‑end reports.
- Oversee monthly reconciliation of key control accounts, including all bank reconciliations.
- Perform inter‑company account reconciliations.
- Review aged creditors, chase missing invoices, reconcile statements and allocate payments correctly.
- Assist in the annual audit.
- Prepare quarterly VAT returns.
- Raise sales invoices throughout the month (UK and US) and deliver correct reports to customers.
- Manage credit control across US and UK, produce weekly reports for meetings.
Requirements:
- Experience as a Finance or Accounts Assistant.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills; ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ideally AAT qualified with broad finance experience.
- Strong workload management and prioritisation.
- Flexible, able to operate in a fast‑paced environment and maintain composure under pressure.
- High attention to detail, able to identify and question anomalies.
- Problem‑solving skills with effective solution proposals.
- Willingness to take on a variety of duties as required.
- Experience managing payment runs across multiple entities, countries and currencies is an advantage.
- Strong communicator with interpersonal skills.
- Excellent Excel and reporting skills.
- Proactive with a positive can‑do attitude.
