Elevation Procurement & Supply Chain is delighted to be partnered with a leading Passenger Transport organisation in the search and selection of a Contract and Relationship Manager within their developing and transitioning Procurement function. The Contract and Relationship Manager (SRM) works within the procurement team but collaborates across all levels of the business. This role implements, manages, measures, and continues to develop supply chain relationships and contract management best practices, while ensuring compliance with organisational and industry regulations and policies to mitigate risks within the supply chain. This includes auditing suppliers and their adherence to standards such as Modern Slavery and ensuring payment of at least the National Living Wage, to assure the supply chain is appropriately managed to mitigate risks, drive value, and support organisational delivery.
Accountabilities:
- Understand, develop, define business requirements and opportunities related to contract and supplier management to support delivery.
- Develop and implement improved governance controls and working practices across the supply chain to drive efficiencies, value, and compliance.
- Influence and effect change within the business to deliver benefits such as financial savings, improved performance, quality, and deliverables.
- Set key metrics aligned with organisational values and KPIs to measure and manage supply chain risk and performance.
- Collaborate with various business units and industry partners to ensure alignment and improve supply chain communication and data provision.
- Define and provide training on contract and supplier relationship management best practices, linking to legislative and regulatory updates, including the Procurement Act 23.
- Work with procurement and other stakeholders to integrate contract management and supplier performance into the sourcing process, supporting compliance and value creation.
- Operate flexibly, leading new initiatives and adapting to changing business needs and priorities.
Background & Experience:
- Proven experience and success in supplier and contract management.
- Experience in implementing supply chain improvements and change strategies.
- Track record of leading complex projects and problem-solving.
- Knowledge of procurement law, including Utilities Contracts Regulations 2016.
- Experience presenting to senior management and influencing at Board level.
- Deep knowledge of supplier and contract management best practices.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- CIPS qualification is desirable but not essential.
