Are you an experienced vet looking to join a very experienced team with an incredibly low staff turnover with full, part and flexi working options? You will join the practice at an exciting time as the practice has recently moved to a new site and is expanding their team. The clinical team is very experienced with the Practice owners having over 20 years' experience each! Surgical certificate holder in practice, and they are seeing a variety of cases allowing you to gain experience.
This role would suit a full-time applicant and will include 1 in 4 Saturday mornings; however, part-time opportunities may be considered and can be discussed at interview. We can offer real flexi working options to give you real work-life balance. No OOH or Sundays. This role is ideal for a veterinary surgeon with experience who is looking for a practice where they can access a varied case load to increase their knowledge. Certificates and CPD are encouraged and supported.
There is the opportunity for 2 forms of contract currently, with the practice looking for a 12-month FTC to cover MAT leave and another full-time permanent vet due to practice growth! Excellent salary available up to £75,000.
About Us: Our practice is located in Durham, a location known for its magnificent Cathedral and Castle, this is a wonderful location for you to get the best of both worlds! The practice is undergoing some very exciting times as it has moved to a larger space offering them the opportunity to expand the team allowing this unique opportunity to become available. The veterinary team is currently made up of 4 full-time vets and 1 part-time. There is a wealth of experience within the team to support you through the next stage of your career in an environment that will both challenge and nurture you. In addition, there are 9 RVNs in practice and one SVN, and to top that you are also supported by a Practice Manager, Administrator and a team of Client Care Coordinators to ensure the day-to-day running of the practice goes smoothly.
The role: We are ideally looking for an experienced veterinary surgeon who is confident with all routine surgery and consults. We are looking for you to join us on a full-time basis, but we can consider different hours and are open to discuss how this would work. We work Monday to Friday 8:00am to 7:00pm and Saturday mornings 8:30am to 12:00pm (Saturdays will be worked on a 1 in 4 basis) with no OOH or Sundays. There are currently 2 roles within practice: one on a fixed term basis, this is to cover MAT leave and will be for up to 1 year. This opportunity can consider consult only. The other role is due to the growth of the practice and will be a permanent full-time role (part-time will be considered), this is ideally for someone comfortable in all aspects of a GP role.
