An award-winning independent small animal practice in a thriving coastal town in County Durham is looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly and supportive team. This opportunity is ideal for a vet with 1+ year of small animal practice experience who wants to develop clinically within a practice that values clinical freedom, mentorship and career progression.

The practice is led by a Surgical Certificate holder who enjoys mentoring colleagues and supporting development in areas such as laparoscopic surgery, internal medicine and further certificates.

The Role

  • Full-time - 40 hours across 4 days
  • 8:30am - 6:30pm shifts with paid breaks
  • 1 in 3 Saturday mornings (consults only) with time off in lieu
  • No OOH, no on-call, no bank holidays
  • Strong client and case continuity

Salary & Benefits

  • Up to £65,000 DOE
  • RCVS & VDS fees paid
  • £1,500 CPD allowance + 4 days CPD leave

Facilities

  • Well-equipped first opinion practice with laparoscopic equipment, ultrasound, digital and dental X-ray, endoscopy, in-house IDEXX lab, ECG, BP monitoring and dedicated dental suite.
  • Practice expansion underway including additional consult rooms, a second theatre and expanded inpatient wards.
