This specialist-led practice provides 24/7 first-line emergency veterinary care, supported by expert emergency clinicians, alongside advanced referral services in Ophthalmology, Surgery, Internal Medicine, and Anaesthesia. This role is ideal for a compassionate and motivated RVN with emergency, referral, or high-dependency nursing experience, looking to make a genuine impact within a high-performing clinical team. The Role This is a full-time Registered Veterinary Nurse position, averaging 37 hours per week on a 6-week rolling rota. The rota includes a mixture of day, night, and twilight shifts across seven days, alongside participation in an on‑call rota. The successful candidate will play a key role in the care of medical, surgical, and high‑dependency patients, ensuring the highest standards of nursing care are consistently delivered.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering exceptional nursing care to emergency, medical, surgical, and high‑dependency patients
  • Monitoring patient progress and supporting recovery plans
  • Assisting clinicians during procedures and treatments
  • Maintaining outstanding hygiene, cleanliness, and infection control standards
  • Working calmly and efficiently in a fast‑paced emergency and referral setting
  • Supporting a culture of clinical excellence and teamwork across the veterinary hospital

The practice is seeking an experienced and organised Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) with excellent communication skills and a passion for patient care. Applicants should have:

Must Have

  • Qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) status
  • A minimum of 2-3 years' previous veterinary nursing experience
  • Strong organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure in a busy clinical environment
  • Confidence working independently and collaboratively within a team
  • A focused and proactive Continuing Professional Development (CPD) record
  • Excellent communication skills across all areas of the practice

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience within a veterinary referral practice (advantageous but not essential)
  • Experience in emergency and critical care (ECC) or emergency veterinary work would be beneficial

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary: £35,000 - £38,965 per year (dependent on experience and skill level)
