A well-established small animal veterinary practice in Wiltshire is seeking an experienced Locum Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to provide cover across a series of shifts, with an immediate start available. The practice would ideally like one locum veterinary nurse to cover all dates, making this an excellent opportunity for a reliable and committed RVN seeking consistent locum work.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly supportive, experienced clinical team and work within a modern, well-equipped first-opinion veterinary hospital offering exposure to a broad range of nursing responsibilities.
Locum Veterinary Nurse Shift Dates
- Friday 12/06 - 11:30am-7:30pm
- Monday 15/06 - 8:00am-4:00pm
- Tuesday 16/06 - 8:00am-4:00pm
- Wednesday 17/06 - 9:00am-5:00pm
- Friday 19/06 - 8:00am-4:00pm
Additional shifts are also available:
- Monday 22/06 - Shift TBC
- Tuesday 23/06 - Shift TBC
- Wednesday 24/06 - Shift TBC
Pay Rate:
£25 per hour
About the Practice
The successful Locum Veterinary Nurse / RVN will join a thriving and collaborative veterinary team consisting of:
- 9 Veterinary Surgeons (VS)
- 7 Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs)
- Student Veterinary Nurses (SVNs)
- Dedicated Client Care Team
- Experienced Nursing Assistants
This established veterinary practice prides itself on delivering a high standard of patient and client care, supported by excellent facilities and an experienced multidisciplinary team.
Facilities & Equipment
The practice is exceptionally well-equipped, providing locum nurses with access to advanced veterinary facilities including:
- In-house laboratory for rapid blood testing
- Ultrasound imaging
- Endoscopy equipment
- ECG (electrocardiography)
- Digital radiography (digital X-ray)
- Separate dog and cat hospital wards to reduce patient stress
- Dedicated isolation ward
- Surgical theatre for routine and advanced soft-tissue and orthopaedic procedures
- Fully equipped dental suite
- Integrated bathing and grooming facilities
- On-site 24-hour emergency and out-of-hours service
Veterinary Nursing Exposure
This role offers varied and rewarding clinical exposure for an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse, including:
- Theatre nursing, including orthopaedic procedures
- Diagnostic imaging support
- Laboratory nursing
- Dental nursing
- Inpatient and hospitalisation care
- Emergency and critical care nursing
- General first-opinion veterinary nursing duties
The practice also delivers a full range of routine veterinary services including puppy and kitten health checks, vaccinations, neutering, dental care, senior pet health support, parasite control and consultations.
The Ideal Candidate
The practice is seeking a confident and proactive Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) with previous clinical nursing experience who is comfortable working in a busy small animal environment.
