Location: Newtownabbey site.

Responsibilities

  • General external repairs: ground works, concrete repairs and installation, flagging, garden maintenance, fence and gate erection or repair.
  • Excavate, lay pipes, clear blockages, repair foul or stormwater drainage systems, power wash, gutter/downpipe/soil pipe repairs, minor roof or patch repairs.
  • Assist with scaffolding erection.
  • Carry out general handyman duties.
  • Internal repair works: minor plastering, plumbing, joinery and painting, level‑access shower trays, floor and wall tiling, floor levelling, house clear‑outs.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Practical experience in building, joinery, mechanical/electrical maintenance or grounds maintenance.
  • Understanding of basic repair/maintenance issues.
  • Current UK driving licence.
  • Effective communication and prioritisation skills.

Remuneration – £26,403 per annum, plus discount benefits. Transport provided for the role.

Plumber (Public Sector) – 3 months initially with possible extension

Location: Newtownabbey site.

Responsibilities

  • All plumbing work for housing stock maintenance and refurbishment: bathrooms, kitchens, general pipework, cylinders, tanks, radiators, sinks, immersion heaters, shower trays and units.
  • First and second fix plumbing as required.
  • Inspect plumbing systems to identify repairs or replacements.
  • Support operational tasks outside of plumbing where needed.

Requirements

  • Completed plumbing apprenticeship (time‑served or skills‑based).
  • Minimum one year of relevant post‑apprenticeship experience.
  • Knowledge of current health and safety legislation within a maintenance environment.
  • Full current driving licence.

Remuneration – £27,694 – £32,597 per annum, plus van and fuel card.

Joiner (Public Sector) – 3 months initially with possible extension

Location: Coleraine site.

Responsibilities

  • Responsive maintenance as required.
  • Communicate with management and itemise work for dwellings and premises.
  • Execute work to high‑quality standards.
  • Uphold data protection policies.
  • Perform any other duties deemed necessary by management.

Requirements

  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent trade qualification.
  • Valid CSCS/CSR card.
  • On‑site experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of health and safety legislation.

  • Manufacture, assemble, erect and install new electrical work.

  • Ensure compliance with health & safety orders.
  • Attend to planned preventative maintenance, new work, repairs and emergencies.

Requirements

  • Recognised BITB or CITB apprenticeship or approved company apprenticeship.
  • City & Guilds 236 Part 2 or equivalent formal qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years post‑apprenticeship experience (including at least 1 year on complex electrical/electronic systems).

Painter (Public Sector)

Key Responsibilities

  • Painting and decorating residential and communal properties, mainly change‑of‑tenancy projects.
  • Full paint‑outs, staining door edges and saddles, painting fences, doors and internal/external surfaces.
  • Safe and efficient completion to required quality standards.
  • Adhere to health & safety, PPE, and material handling protocols.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and colleagues to plan and prioritise workloads.

Essential Criteria

  • 1–5 years of painting and decorating experience.

Requirements
