Whatnot is the largest livestream shopping platform in North America and Europe. Our sellers buy, sell, and discover items across categories including trading cards, fashion, electronics, and live plants.

The Business Operations Manager / Senior Manager plays a significant role in building the functions to unlock growth and help the Company scale. Working directly with Whatnot's leadership team, this role will work cross-functionally to lead large, critical initiatives and solve complicated, unstructured problems. This role is a terrific introduction to Whatnot, and allows impactful individuals to learn about the business while contributing to a variety of high-impact, critical initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take Whatnot global: Help launch Whatnot across the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Canada, focusing on scaling these markets by partnering with Product and Engineering to ensure international needs are built into scalable, global solutions.
  • Scale our marketing engine: Bring business-side rigor to how capital is deployed, measured, and prioritized as Whatnot scales its investment in marketing.
  • Build a great business: Partner with StratFin and Data to ensure we are building a healthy, durable business by leading analyses across key margin levers and growth investments.
  • Help Whatnot run better: Build tooling to track progress against aggressive goals, highlighting key metrics, resource allocation, and blockers.
  • Deliver for our users: Pressure-test new products and capabilities, partnering with Product, Engineering, and Operations to improve the buyer and seller experience.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, or related field.
  • 5-6+ years experience in consulting, investment banking/private equity, or a fast-growing startup.
  • Professional fluency in German or French, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to move remarkably fast with little structure, guidance.
  • Curious to learn about different parts of the business and how to pull certain levers to grow faster.
  • Ability to operate independently and go deep on ambiguous projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to work and influence cross-functionally.
  • Fluency in using AI tools to enhance problem-solving, analysis, and execution across a wide range of business challenges.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience working on a marketplace or a two-sided platform.
  • Experience or passion for buying and selling in online marketplace communities.
  • Proficiency with SQL & dashboards.

Compensation:

For London based applicants: £131,000/year - £175,000/year + benefits + stock options. The salary range may be inclusive of several levels that would be applicable to the position. Final salary will be based on a number of factors including level, relevant prior experience, skills and expertise.
