  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to senior leaders, providing data‑driven recommendations and tradeoffs to inform decision‑making.
  • Continuously assess operational performance, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, resilience, and user experience.

Team members in this role are required to be within commuting distance of our London or Dublin hubs.

People who do well at Whatnot tend to be comfortable figuring things out as they go, biased toward action, and genuinely curious about what they’re building. They care more about outcomes than credit and stay close to the product and the people using it. As our next Commerce Strategy & Operations team member, you should have 8 - 10 years of experience in strategy and operations roles (e.g., consulting, finance, GM, Operations), plus:

  • Proven experience developing and executing strategies that drive scalable, high‑quality operations in ambiguous, fast‑paced environments.
  • Strong analytical judgment, with the ability to synthesize quantitative and qualitative insights into clear recommendations and decisions.
  • Demonstrated success leading large, cross‑functional initiatives from concept through execution.
  • Ability to identify operational inefficiencies and design scalable processes, systems, and operating models to support long‑term growth.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across Product, Engineering, Operations, and senior leadership.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools; experience with SQL and analytics platforms (e.g., Looker, Sigma, Hex) is a plus.

Benefits include generous holiday and time off policy, health insurance options including medical, dental, vision, work from home support, home office setup allowance, monthly allowance for cellphone and internet, care benefits, retirement plans, parental leave, and more.
