Whatley Manor Hotel and Spais a luxury 5* hotel that operates like a house and feels like a home. Less than 30 minutes from Chippenham, Stroud, Tetbury and Cirencester, we are commutable from many locations in Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Bath & Bristol. This beautifully restored 18th century manor house hotel and spa offers a grown up getaway in the heart of the Cotswolds. Set in 12 acres of beautifully kept gardens, we have 23 individually decorated rooms and suites and a range of dining options including our Michelin starred restaurant The Dining Room and Grey's, Whatleys answer to casual dining. We are looking for aHead Sommelierwho will wow our guests and can demonstrate:
- A very strong background working ideally as Head Sommelier in a Michelin setting
- Impeccable guest service skills with a background of exceeding guest expectations
- A passion for great wines accompanied by an appetite to build and share knowledge
- As Head Sommelier, you will understand the workings of a well managed cellar and demonstrate the highest attention to detail – you will be highly organised
- Proven experience as Head Sommelier with a very strong understanding of wine pairing
- Excellent standard of written and spoken English
- An engaging personality with a flair for communication at all levels
- Immaculate personal presentation
- WSET or equivalent qualifications
Our Head Sommelier will work as a key member of our Food and Beverage team, leading and developing the team to maximise sales across all of our outlets and coaching and up-skilling the food service team to develop their understanding of wine and beverage.
